Two bits of very exciting news for The Armchair Adventure Bootcamp! Firstly, we're delighted to be having @spencer_james_conway and @cathy.nel join us for a presentation on their mission to circumnavigate each continent! The pair are currently in Mexico and will soon attempt to cross the Darien Gap by motorcycle!! It's going to be a great session and they'll be with us on the Saturday evening in the virtual pub we've brilliantly named 'The Three Wheels'!! Which brings us on to the second piece of news! Would you like to share a few stories from your own adventures at Bootcamp? On the Saturday after a full on day of masterclasses, workshops and presentations we're going to finish off in 'The Three Wheels' with a nice cold beer and some stories of adventure. Ever fancied living in a van? A moving room with a million different views? We've always liked the idea but have never taken the plunge so we've drafted in Adam and Tania (aka @jits.into.the.sunset ) to join us at Bootcamp and tell us what it's really like to live the fabled #VanLife. It's just over 3 weeks until Bootcamp and one session we are yet to tell you about is our own! We're going to be doing a workshop on 'Charity Challenge Adventures'. Anyone who followed our trip will know a big part of it was raising awareness and funds for the fight against modern slavery. We visited over 10 charities on route and raised over £7000 which was then split between them. We found visiting each of the charities to be not only an eye opening insight in to the challenges they faced but also a great chance to learn more about the country we were in at the time. In general, we think that turning your adventure into a charity challenge can have far reaching positive impacts on both the charity you support and your own trip. It can also add a lot of pressure, set you up for criticism you might not expect and be harder than you'd imagined! There's loads to it so we'll be sharing our experience from our around the world journey by scooter and sidecar and answering any questions you might have on how or why you should fundraise with your trip!
