INTRODUCTION
The Armchair Adventure Festival was founded as a virtual event back in April 2020. It was in response to the first lockdown as we wanted to give people some adventurous entertainment when the last thing we could do was get out and head off on our own travels. Below is a list of all the events to date and with it, the story of The Armchair Adventure Festival
THE ARMCHAIR ADVENTURE FESTIVAL 2021
The plan was never to do an in person festival. But after the success of all the virtual events and the world seemingly returning to some normality it seemed like the most logical next step!
AAF21 was a huge success. 500 keen adventurers attended to hear stories from world leading adventurers, enjoy some of the best music the South West has to offer whilst also going on some mini adventures of their own. This included paddle boarding, kayaking, mountain biking and more. The ocean adventures were a true highlight as it seems everyone who went either kayaking or paddle boarding came back to main festival area having spent most of their time with dolphins!
THE ARMCHAIR ADVENTURE BOOTCAMP 2021
After seeing how much people enjoyed the first two virtual events we decided to put on Bootcamp. We came up with the idea as Bootcamp was something we wished we'd have been able to attend before our own adventure. It's designed to be a crash course in how to make that dream trip a reality with masterclasses and workshops in photography, filmmaking, navigation, trip planning and more.

THE WINTER ARMCHAIR ADVENTURE FESTIVAL
After the success of the first virtual Armchair Adventure Festival we brought back a winter version and introduced our first interactive festival map! The event was sponsored by Honda Motorcycles and we had some unbelievable speakers join us including Karl Bushby, Ben Page, Vanessa Ruck and many more.
THE FIRST ARMCHAIR ADVENTURE FESTIVAL
Back in April 2020 the world grounded to a halt with the first wave of corona virus. It was clear the issue was not going to go away quickly and so we came up with the idea of a virtual adventure festival to give people some entertainment in lockdown. It was originally meant to be us and a couple of adventurous friends on a zoom link but it quickly turned in to a 3 day completely live virtual adventure marathon. It was unbelievable fun and over 20,000 people tuned in across the globe as we raised nearly £10,000 for the NHS charities together fund. For the event we were joined by some unbelievable adventureres including Charley Boorman, Natalia Cohen, Jamie Ramsay and many many more.

WHATS NEXT?
In 2022 we'll be returning with both a second Bootcamp and a second in person Armchair Adventure Festival. Both are going to be even better than their predecessors. Tickets are on sale for each now and you can find out more below!
