We just wanted to give you an update from Armchair Adventure Towers about how #AAF23 is shaping up! We've been very busy booking the best adventure speakers and bands for you to enjoy this summer! Here's a little snapshot below of what's in store...
SPEAKERS!
Ken Fowler::A serial fund raiser for Cancer Charities, Ken was awarded the Old Pulteney Maritime Hero of the Year award for his epic journey in a bathtub sized dinghy along the length of Britain. Always on the lookout for future adventures, he is currently “going dizzy” trying to become the first person to sail around every island in England and Wales – a 250 island, 2000km epic adventure. Put your “armchair” onboard Ken’s dinghy “Yoda” and discover stunning scenery, amazing wildlife and the intriguing history – plus lots of crazy things that happen when you go adventure dinghy sailing!
Rosie Swale Pope MBE: Rosie is an exceptional storyteller and inspiring corporate speaker whose messages are full of the life-enriching lessons we all need to hear in these challenging times. Her international best-seller ‘Just A Little Run Around the World’ is Rosie’s understated yet gripping account of the resilience of the human spirit to triumph over every adversity. “Rosie will inspire any audience to do great things. To quote, “Don’t look at the journey, look at the next step.”
BANDS!
For over a decade the unstoppable Black Friday have been delivering their stomping, high energy home-brew of folk punk music across the south west and beyond. Their music is influenced by their Irish and Cornish roots and their folk heroes. Catchy original songs and their take on favourites by the likes of Flogging Molly and The Pogues will keep you dancing all night!
Chaïni hailing from the French Alpine mountains, Charli and Nini (aka Chaïni) join their two worlds together in perfect acoustic harmony. Mixing flavours of soul, roots, rhythm and blues with positive vibes and all the seasons, they stir it up with saxophone, acoustic guitar and vocals to write home about.
An Atlantic Escapade
If you've attend the last two festivals you're sure to have seen the lovely Andy and Rosalind speaking about their planned trip. Well, it's all about to happen and they're currently making their way to Gran Canaria where they will be starting their 3,000 nautical miles row across the Atlantic.
Home for the duration will be their ocean rowing boat measuring just 7 metres from bow to stern. They will be carrying all of their provisions on- board, battling sleep deprivation and physical exhaustion as they row in shifts to keep the boat moving 24 hours a day. You can follow their escapade here @atlanticescapade and they'll be back for #AAF23 to tell us about how they got on! Good luck guys, we're all rooting for you!
