Our stylish theme continues this weekend with the guest appearance of the one and only Henry Crew – the Guinness World Record holder for being the youngest person to circumnavigate the world by motorcycle!
Henry will be kicking off this Sunday’s film night (it’s a belter of a film from Claudio von Planta and Billy Ward) and will be chatting about his incredible 50,000-mile trip and how he used it to raise awareness for Movember UK, a charity that is very close to his heart. Most bikes won’t do 50,000 miles in their lifetime and very few 23-year-olds even know how to ride, let alone ride across the planet!
Long-standing Armchair Adventurers will know that Henry also holds the title of First Ever Armchair Adventure Festival Guest at our inaugural event in April, so it will be great to have him back and learn more about his trip and why he chose to support Movember UK (maybe because he’s such a dapper chap?!).
Being a World Record holder often encourages competition, which for Henry comes in the shape of britonabike, who’s heading east until covid stops him, and The King on The Road who, at the age of 21, has 2 years on Henry. We’ll be reporting on toddlers touring on Little Tikes bikes in a few years at this rate!
Even if your years are slightly more advanced than Henry’s, you can still give him a run for his money in the style stakes by out-dappering him on Sunday, to coincide with the Distinguished Gentlemen’s Ride that we’re all taking part in. The best-dressed attendee will win two tickets to next year’s ABR Festival, so it’s worth the effort! Fear not – if you can’t grow a moustache in time, false ones will still be counted. It’s all in aid of a great cause, so suit up, frock up, roll up, donate (if you like), sit back and relax as the Armchair Adventure Festival entertains your (very fly) socks off. It’s all free, and Henry will be taking questions, so get them ready! Grab your free front row seat here: https://armchairadventurefestival.com/film-nights/
